Help With Anxiety
Anxiety is an awfully debilitating negative emotional condition that diminishes joy and impedes your ability to live bravely. It runs deeper than fear which is usually associated with a stressful event such as public speaking or an important meeting. Anxiety may ebb and flow in intensity but normally is an ongoing presence like a misty dark cloud.
The emotional traumas in life that lead to anxiety run deep and often intertwined with generational traits and ongoing challenging life conditions. It may take several prayer sessions to be fully relieved as a deep transformation of the mind is required. Yet there is spiritual healing available to get you started on your healing journey. Anxiety can be overcome!
The central issue for someone with anxiety is trust. Trust that the universe is not inherently out of control and dangerous. That’s why trust in God is the antidote. We don’t need to conclude that God is in control of everything that happens. But as Jesus was able to sleep through a storm in a boat that caused seasoned fishermen to fear imminent death, bad events aren’t the end of the story. God is in ultimate control, and faith in Him simply requires that nothing can happen and you can’t go anywhere where He can’t find you and protect you from fulfilling your destiny.
Here is what Jesus had to say in Matthew 6 (25-34), right in the middle of his greatest sermon:
And one more thing: get out of bed early in the morning and offer up 5 minutes of thanksgiving. The issue of getting out of bed in a timely way is actually the centre point of breakthrough into a transformed life. Lying too long in bed is pure disobedience fuelled by unbelief.
See what the “beloved” disciple, John, had to say in his first epistle (chapter 3:1-3): “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”
And in chapter 4:16-19: “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love each other because he first loved us.”
